What is the difference between the nominal pressure of national standard valves and the pressure of American standard valves?

Here is a detailed introduction to help valve users better understand.

1. The difference between nominal pressure and American standard pressure:
Nominal pressure is an important parameter of valves, usually expressed by the letters PN and nominal pressure value, representing the pressure to be borne corresponding to different reference temperatures. The pressure system of valves is usually divided into two categories: national standard pressure system and American standard pressure system. What are the differences between them and how to make a simple conversion? Here is a detailed introduction to help valve users better understand.
The PN national standard system refers to the pressure corresponding to 120℃, while the CLass American standard refers to the pressure corresponding to 425.5℃ (except 150LB based on 260 degrees, all other levels are based on 454 degrees). The 150-pound (150psi=1MPa) No. 25 carbon steel valve has an allowable stress of 1MPa at 260 degrees, while the allowable stress at room temperature is much larger than 1MPa, about 2.0MPa. Therefore, it is generally said that the nominal pressure level corresponding to the American standard 150LB is 2.0MPa, the nominal pressure level corresponding to 300LB is 5.0MPa, and so on. Therefore, in engineering interchange, pressure conversion cannot be performed simply. For example, the simple pressure conversion of CLass300# should be 2.1MPa, but if the operating temperature is taken into account, the corresponding pressure will increase. According to the temperature and pressure resistance test of the material, it is equivalent to 5.0MPa.
2. Conversion between national standard pressure and American standard pressure:
It is worth noting that although the national standard pressure and the American standard pressure can be simply converted, there are many differences between them, and the connection sizes are completely different. In actual use, the valves used in the corresponding pressure system should be selected according to the corresponding standards and cannot be mixed.
